Katrin Hilbe
Katrin is is a director, writer, producer of Liechtenstein-Kansas origin. She holds a masters in Philosophy, Musicology and English/American Literature from the University of Berne (Switzerland). For the Midtown International Theatre Festival in NYC she functions as the Artistic Director of International Relations. With her company, ManyTracks, Katrin creates projects inspiring vivid debate, be it her new translation of Georg Büchner´s drama “Danton’s Death” (performed in NYC) or Hayley Heaton´s play “The Man in the Newspaper Hat”, which she produced both in NYC and Seattle. Katrin directs Opera as well as straight Theatre, both in Europe and in the US. Most recent work in the US was Richard Strauss’ “Salome” for New Orleans Opera, her latest European project the multi-media event “Fraktale Sommernacht” with the International Lab for Opera and Media Werdenberg in Switzerland. Between 2007-2010 she was the primary Assistant Director for Richard Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen at the Bayreuth Festival in Germany. She speaks and translates in the languages German, English, Italian and French.
