Actor, writer, magician, sideshow artist and now burgeoning vaudeville impresario – Nelson Lugo has been a member of the WorkShop for over three years now and is loving every minute of it. Nelson started walking the boards at the tender age of 18 when he lost a bet with his sister. If you ask him he'll probably tell you that he continues to entertain because he likes to play dress up – the truth is, he's still paying off the debt to his sister. At the WorkShop, Nelson has been featured in several Sunday readings as well as a number of Three Day Readings. Most notably, Nelson was cast as Rizwan in "Raisins Not Virgins" – as himself in "Magic and Mayhem" where he performed his own one-man-show called "Deconstructing the Magician" – and as Jerry Goldstein in "Only Kidding!" You can currently see him in the WorkShop's monthly late-night variety show called "Vaudeville Nouveau" which he co-produces with Richard Kent Green.
