Passion
I'm an AUDELCO Outstanding Pioneer Award Honoree and former Artistic Director of NJPAC Young Writers Workshop. I've worked production as actress, writer, wardrobe assistant, stage manager and continue to be awed by the magic of theater.
I've directed over 35 productions, including the AUDELCO winners: Melba Moore's Sweet Songs of the Soul and Real Black Men Don't Sit Crosslegged On The Floor. I loved reviews of Saviour? by Esther Armah and sold out houses for Scenes From A Normal Life. Some festivals in which I've presented include: Chekhov Now, National Black Theater Festival, Estrogenius, Bermuda Festival, NY International Fringe Festival, Vet Fest and Voices From The Edge.
I enjoy developing new plays and one person shows. I'm at home with drama, comedy, musicals and the challenge of hybrid, or multi-media projects. I've presented in airports, a funeral parlor, museums, National Arts Club and Off-Broadway.
I'm an alum of Brooklyn College, Lincoln Center Directors Lab and Women's Project Directors Forum. I'm a member of SDC and NYWIFT.
As Director of the documentary Drama Mamas! Black Women Theater Directors in the Spotlight and Remembered; I'm in post-production with my salute to the likes of Shauneille Perry, Glenda Dickerson, Seret Scott and Barbara Ann Teer.
At the Workshop I've directed Mama's Gonna Buy You, Strange Weather, Air Force 525 and Associate Produced God In Bed.
