When September's two sisters show up at her run-down SoCal motel, she is bound and determined not to openly discuss the circumstances that drew them to her in the first place. But September is a spoken word poet, and she and her sisters set about deciphering the truth of what she's going through via her poetry.
September & Her Sisters is a story about language and communication, sisterhood and motherhood, and whether or not the bonds of family will stretch across the length of a country.

Jennifer Lane is a playwright, novelist, and teaching artist. Her work includes To Fall in Love (Winner of the 2017 Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival Play Contest, Winner of Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Drama at the 2017 San Diego International Fringe Festival, Semi-Finalist for the O’Neill, produced by The Constructivists, presented at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, adapted into a Feature Film); and Harlowe (developed under the mentorship of Sarah Ruhl, winner of the Alec Baldwin Fellowship at Singers Forum, workshopped at the Gulfshore Playhouse, Finalist for the 2015 Humanitas/CTG Playwriting Prize, premiered at TheatreLab). Leslie is currently an Associate Artistic Director at The Workshop Theater where she regularly facilitates and stages readings of new work.
